Mark A. Barbee
Funeral Director and Owner
Mark is the great-grandson of Edgar Lightfoot, a first
generation Funeral Director and Methodist Minister from LaRue, Ohio. Mark
became a second generation Funeral Director a decade ago and was a staff member
of the Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Home of Ravenna before coming to Warren.
Mark and his wife Rita purchased the McFarland & Son Funeral Home with
plans of continuing on with the McFarland family legacy assisting families with
the life celebrations of their loved ones. We believe that it’s more than just
a funeral, it’s a life remembered.
has served on various community groups and panels furthering the betterment of
healthcare for our children through the Akron Children’s Hospital and through various Masonic
Organizations. Mark is an active member of Victory Life Church, is a
member of the National Lodge # 568 F&AM, of the Scottish Rite Valley of Akron, and
the Warren Buckeye Club.
and Rita have a son, Michael and a daughter, Stefanie, and 6 fantastic
grandchildren. Lastly, we have a dog, a German Shorthaired Pointer named
James D. McFarland
Funeral Director Emeritus
Jim is a fourth generation Funeral Director with the
McFarland & Son Funeral Home and is currently a Funeral Director Emeritus
for McFarland - Barbee Family Funeral Home. He is semi-retired but is
still involved with the funeral home and in the community.
has served as the President of the Board of Directors of these following
organizations: Fine Arts Council of Trumbull County, Trumbull County Historical
Society, the Warren Area Jaycees and SCOPE Senior Centers. Jim also
presided as president of the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library while
serving on their board of trustees for over 20 years. He has been active
his entire life as a member of Warren's First United Methodist Church. Jim
is a member of the Old Erie Lodge #3 F&AM and the Warren Buckeye Club, and
life member of the Warren Library Association, as well as a life member of the
Trumbull County Historical Society.
Stefanie Ann Barbee-Monger
Assistant and Apprentice Funeral Director
a prior graduate of Kent State with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. She
also received a Master degree in Healthcare Administration with Specialization
in Education from the University of Phoenix.
joining the funeral directing team as an apprentice, Stefanie was a
health educator for the Allied Health Department for a local
college, in the North Canton area. Stefanie also has prior experience with
the military in healthcare administration and as a veterans wife.
She is also
a member of the Anna Dean Chapter of Eastern Stars, and keeps busy with her
three sons. Stefanie joins our team to continue the legacy the McFarland's set
out, and will continue after her father, Mark Barbee new owner operator of
McFarland-Barbee Family Funeral Home.
